It’s been a while since my last English entry. I’ve recently updated my EDC (Every Day Carry) setup…figure I might as well make a record of it. I’ll post photos or video of these items as soon as I have time.
Primary EDC:
- Dockers Mobile Pant (I wear no other kind. Just different color for different occasion…)
- Right pocket: Nokia 6680 3G phone
- Right pocket: No-name el-cheapo frame-locked folding knife with 440 stainless leaf blade
- Left hidden trouser pocket: Bandana #1
- Right hidden trouser pocket: Butane Lighter
- Right hidden trouser pocket: Burt’s Bee Res-Q Ointment
- Left inner hidden pocket: Loose change
- Left inner hidden pocket: USB flash drive 32G
- Left inner hidden pocket: Metal business card case containing important cards, spare cash, various small notes, and…uhm…business cards
- Left hidden trouser pocket: Eye drop
- Left hidden trouser pocket: Chapstick
- Left hidden trouser pocket: Bandana #2
- Left rear pocket: Gun Top Grade police-issue hard nylon (Cordura) wallet. This is the “normal-usage” wallet, containing IDs, bank cards, cash, etc.
- Wenger thin metal chain attached to the GTG wallet
- Right rear pocket: Porter soft nylon wallet. This is the “emergency” wallet, containing less-used IDs, credit cards, mini-pen, paperclips, latex gloves, duct tape, emergency medicine and first-aid kit.
- Gun Top Grade 32mm police-issue hard nylon belt with quick-release buckle
- Belt rear left side: Climbing-rated Carabiner. The Wenger chain goes here, attached to my key chain. Key chain usually stashed in the left pocket.
- Key chain: em….bunch of keys
- Key chain: Emergency whistle (in red)
- Key chain: Mini flat-head and Philips-head screwdriver set
- Key chain: Tool Logic mini-LED light with mini toolset (flat&Philips) and pen.
- Key chain: Mini laser pointer.
- Key chain: Mini measuring tape (2m).
- Key chain: Mini Tusa Fin (just a neat little decorative thingy)
- Belt rear right side: Spyderco Spyderench in a nylon pouch
- Belt rear left side: Victorinox SwissChamp with knife sharpener stick in a leather pouch with 2×1m 550 paracords tied in a stacked box-knot lanyard
- Belt rear left side: Fenix L1D-CE Q5 120 lumens LED Flashlight (running on a single AA battery) in a nylon pouch
- Left wrist: Suunto D4 Dive Computer/Wrist Watch. I dive with it, and use the digital compass on land.
- Right wrist: 2×1m 550 paracords tied in a cobra-stitch bracelet. Another source of paracord.
- Left ankle: 2×1m 550 paracords tied in a permanent weave bracelet. Another source of paracord.
Yes, seriously, I actually do carry these things everyday. On my very person. About 2kg (sans optional items). My secondary EDC, i.e. knapsack (what I heave to work everyday) is about 5kg. What’s in it? Maybe some other time.
